Skilled Nursing Unit

What is Skilled Nursing?

A skilled nursing unit serves as a stepping stone for patients who no longer need critical care, but are not quite ready to be discharged home. Patients will still receive medical care, but no longer at a critical level.

Life in a Skilled Nursing Unit

Patients in a skilled unit can expect a unique care plan tailored to their individual needs. The ultimate goal is for the patient to regain mobility and independence and be able to return home and back to normal life. Patients can enjoy access to the hospital chapel, activities such as church services, veteran recognition ceremonies, group get-togethers, cake and ice cream parties, and much more! Patients of Sequoyah Memorial's skilled unit can also expect to be looked after by local physicians dedicated to providing quality care in their own community.
